About The Artist
Vera Graham was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario where she graduated from the University of Windsor with an honours degree in science and mathematics.
She moved to Calgary in 1982 and worked until the arrival of her only child and daughter, Sarah. It was during this time when she returned to painting, her life long interest.
Now a full-time artist, she is totally self taught which she accomplished by studying the masters and contemporary artists. She continues to learn by painting regularly with other accomplished artists.
Her subject matter varies but she consistently uses acrylic medium on primed hardboard to produce her paintings. She is driven by a passion to exalt realism; pushing the paint to excite colours and shapes in pursuit of a harmonious image that will evoke emotion in the viewer.
